Language Programme

Welcome to the Language Training Programme at the United Nations Office at Geneva.

We believe in multilingualism and multiculturalism as key elements of mutual understanding in a global context.

Toward this aim, we offer language courses in the six official languages of the United Nations (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish).

Our general language programmes go from levels 1-9, and are aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) covering levels of competence from A1 to C1.

Our courses and teaching methodology take into account the needs of staff in United Nations organizations, other international organizations and permanent missions.

Multilingualism has to be in our DNA. Simply put, if we only have one way to say things, it will really reduce our ability to serve the people of the world."
