This session aims to provide a clear and detailed understanding of the interview process within the United Nations system. The competency-based and blended approach that characterises these interviews will be explained, as well as strategies for preparing structured responses, highlighting relevant experiences and demonstrating consistency with UN values and principles. Throughout the activity, practical tools will be shared that will allow participants to face demanding and highly competitive selection processes in the international arena with greater preparation and confidence.
Gabriel Tuan is currently the Manager for Learning and Development for UN Women. His focus is on both creating collective leadership and team capacity to enable transformative systems change and providing holistic coaching and career coaching that integrates holistic learning, mindfulness, system thinking and participatory approaches.
He brings 25 years of experience with UN Women, UNICEF, UNRWA, OCHA, and DPKO across multiple duty stations helping staff, teams and senior leaders to operate effectively to deliver results in complex, emergency, protracted and post conflict settings.
