Course Objectives
Every second Wednesday of the month, join the Future-Ready Managers: Career Power-Up Series - a 60-minute practical career development session designed for managers and supervisors who want to strengthen their management capabilities.
This series offers concise, high-impact sessions that translate powerful ideas from well-known management books and frameworks into practical tools that team leads can immediately apply in their day-to-day work.
Rather than traditional management training, the series focuses on practical concepts, proven frameworks, and actionable techniques drawn from leading management thinkers. Each session explores one key idea and demonstrates how it can be applied to common managerial situations such as leading teams, communicating effectively, building trust, and navigating complex workplace dynamics.
The goal of the series is to support managers’ continuous career development by helping them build a practical Team Lead Toolbox through curated concepts from influential management frameworks and thought leaders.
Participants will leave each session with:
- One core concept
- Several practical techniques
- One clear action to apply with their team
Sessions focus on key managerial capabilities such as:
- The Trowel (Roots: Know yourself first): Self-management, resilience, confidence, impostor syndrome, navigating a VUCA world
- The Watering Can (Flow: Connect and communicate): Communication skills, feedback, storytelling, persuasion, the power of No
- The Rake (Sunlight: Grow your people): Delegation, coaching, neurodiversity, career conversations, managing difficult relationships
- The Planning Map (Direction: Think and act strategically): Systems thinking, prioritization, UN 2.0 behaviours, managing upwards, co-creation, agility and change
- The Pruning Shears (Shape: Build high-performing teams): Trust and psychological safety, inclusion, mentoring, leading through transitions, running meetings
