Aicha Abdoulhanzis
I am currently based in Istanbul, Türkiye, leading the Talent Acquisition, Outreach, and Management unit within the Human Resources Section of OCHA. In this role, I oversee a global team supporting OCHA’s recruitment efforts at headquarters locations and in the field, including regional and country offices.
I began my career with the United Nations Secretariat through the Junior Professional Programme (JPO) in the Staffing Section (Office of Human Resources) at UNHQ. Before moving to UN peacekeeping operations, I served with the United Nations Operation in Côte d'Ivoire (UNOCI) and as the Deputy Chief of Human Resources of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). I also worked at the United Nations Regional Service Centre in Entebbe (RSCE) as Service Line Manager, servicing 13 UN missions, including both Peacekeeping Operations and Special Political Missions. I then spent about three years with UNOPS as a Project Manager, managing the Peace Support Project (PSP) in support of the Office of the Special Envoy for Yemen (OSESGY) in Amman, Jordan.
Prior to my tenure with the UN, I gained valuable experience with the French Red Cross (FRC) at their headquarters in Paris and in the field, supporting the Tsunami recovery programmes in the Maldives and Sri Lanka. Overall, I possess about 18 years of experience in human resources within different UN environments (headquarters, shared service centers, field missions), with expertise in recruitment and staffing processes.
I hold a master’s degree in business administration from the University Panthéon La Sorbonne and a master’s degree in public Strategy and Political Decision from the Institut Supérieur de Management Public et Politique (ISMAPP) in Paris. I am fluent in English, French, and Malagasy.
I am a mother of two who enjoys exploring the world.
