COURSE OBJECTIVES

The Orientation Programme for new staff members in Geneva is a half day programme. Sessions are held twice a year, one in spring and one in fall. It provides you with information to help you integrate to the Organization, to introduce you to the new UN values and behaviors framework, the organizational culture and some of the most important issues that the SG has committed to such as Diversity Equity Inclusion and Anti-racism (DEIA)Environmental ManagementGender, Mental Health, Disability and Inclusion, Learning and Development, and Multilingualism. You will also have opportunities to connect with all UN newcomers. As part of the programme, there will be an introduction from the Staff Union, International Geneva Welcome Center, a guided tour of the Palais des Nations in the noon, and an optional guided tour of the library and its museum in the afternoon.

If you wish to know more about the organization, we encourage you to visit the global Orientation Hub and to get information on how to navigate your first months with the UN, and a collection of Orientation Programme's welcome videos introducing your new workplace and some pf the services available in UN Geneva!

The programme is aimed at all staff members (local and international regardless of their type of contract) who joined the organization during the last six months.
