Course Objective
At the end of this course, you will be able to:
- master basic pronunciation: pinyin (the official romanization system for Standard Chinese) and four tones
- recognize and write about 60 new characters and use the everyday words that they form
- introduce yourself and someone else, using basic greeting expressions and simple polite forms
- give simple information about yourself (nationality, languages spoken, etc.), asking and responding to questions
- identify a person or an object
- count from 0 to 99
- understand very short and simple texts
