Course Objective

At the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • identify different types of writing: narrative, descriptive and argumentative
  • understand the main ideas of written texts on general topics
  • understand key information in short audio or video files (dialogues, interviews, stories, documentaries, news extracts)
  • take part in a conversation about familiar topics or of personal interest: trips, general knowledge about China, a visit to the doctor’s, etc.
  • explain your viewpoint on a familiar topic giving the advantages and the disadvantages of various options
  • write clear, detailed texts on familiar subjects or topics of personal interest
