The goal of this course is for those who have studied Modern Standard Arabic to understand and engage in conversation using the Egyptian dialect, one of the most spoken dialects in the Arab world.
This course covers topics such as family, work, and professional experience. It focuses on aspects of Egyptian culture, such as social and public celebration, costumes and clothing, food, social taboos and difficulties faced living in Egypt. The course also includes an introduction to Egyptian cinema.
This course focuses on participant's speaking skills and uses authentic materials. It offers a wide range of activities in order to practise the Egyptian dialect.
There is no formal evaluation. Completion requirement: 70 per cent attendance
