Course Objective

This course aims to develop participants’ reading comprehension, vocabulary and oral expression through the study of short stories by authors from the Spanish-speaking world.

Content

Themes covered will be relevant to the UN context: society, history, gender and the Spanish-speaking world. They will include literary and cultural topics from the Spanish-speaking world.

Methodology / Approach

Students will read a weekly short story before each class with the objective of engaging in meaningful discussions about the text, its topic and related cultural aspects.

Evaluation

There is no formal evaluation. Completion requirement: 70 per cent attendance
