Course Objective

The goal for this course is to develop reading comprehension, vocabulary and oral expression. You will understand essential information and relevant details in work-related documents such as offical publications, reports, press releases and resolutions, with the support of
resources to refine interpretation.
You will also engage in conversations by sharing news,
expressing points of view and feelings naturally, using a wide range of language and nuances.

Content

Different themes related to the current situation in the Arab world such as conflicts and war, migration, women rights and chidren rights, and the role of the United Nations in the area, are covered in this course.

Methodology / Approach

This course uses authentic written and audio materials published by the UN to revise different aspects of the Arabic language.

Evaluation

There is no formal evaluation. Class participation and attendance at a minimum of eight sessions.
