You will review and analyse the key features of advanced vocabulary in contexts useful for people working in international organizations and preparing for the Language Proficiency Exam.
The vocabulary points include formal and informal usage, office jargon, email phrases and expressions, typical phrases and vocabulary used in UN reports, confusing words, phrasal verbs, prepositional phrases, compound nouns, idioms and collocations. You will learn how to identify contextual clues to improve your reading skills and speed in reading. You will consolidate your knowledge in interactive online tasks, exchange in forums and do two assignments with feedback from the tutor. You will have six webinars to consolidate and check your learning with the tutor and other participants. These are recorded.
You will have weekly online modules, observe each vocabulary topic in an authentic context, practise it with self-corrected exercises and use it in communicative contexts in the forums and during the webinars.
You will be evaluated through: your participation in the webinars, participation in the forums and online tasks, and completion of two assignments.
