Placement Test

The placement test is an integral part of the course enrolment process for all new enrolments (unless you are a complete beginner). If you have studied in the programme before, your last result is valid for two terms. The purpose of the test is to place you in the most suitable level to give you the best chances to improve your language competency level. Please note that it is your responsibility to schedule this test with the secretariat in order to enrol in the programme. 

1. Will I definitely get a place if I take the placement test? 

No. Taking a placement test does not guarantee you a place on our language courses. Class assignments are made on a first come, first served basis. 

2. When will I know my level and whether I have a place on a course? 

After having done the placement test, the teacher will inform you about the provisional level you might be in. If we have a place for you, we will send you an email with your definitive level and the schedule of the course shortly before the beginning of the new term. Please note that 95% of the levels given during the placement test become definitive. 

In the case that we cannot assign you a place, we will send you an email at the beginning of the term stating that you have been placed on our waiting list (valid for the first week of the course). If no space becomes available after the first  week or the first day of the summer courses, you will be notified by email. 

3. Do present students already enrolled in a course get priority over new applicants? 

Yes, priority is given to students who are already in the program and who wish to continue their studies, provided they apply before the deadline. Consequently, a limited number of places are available to new applicants.

4. What happens if I have applied on time and still do not get a place on a course? 

If you applied on time, we will put you on a waiting list for the first  week of the course. We will contact you if a place becomes available during that time. If this is not the case, we will cancel your application and you will need to apply again for the following term. If you have paid a course fee, we will or provide you with the necessary documents so that you can be reimbursed.  

5. When is the secretariat office open? 

The Language Training secretariat is open from 9:00 to 12:30 Monday to Friday.
